Coffee capsules lid sealing problems of PLA non-woven / Paper material

Material surface morphological analysis.

Sealing problems with sample 2, theoretically the same as sample 1.
Microscopic surface analysis showed a morphological difference: the holes in the nonwoven side of sample 2 revealed the paper underneath. Paper represented a discontinuity on the sealing surface of nonwoven, giving bad sealing behaviour. Heat seal tests confirmed the different final behaviour, while microscopy marked the differences between the two samples, explaining the origin of the problem.
