At CPHI Barcelona, sustainability is a central matter for the general organization, as well as for all the pharma exhibitors that take part in the show every year and who commit to minimising their impact on the environment.
The CPHI organizers collaborated with IMA on the development of the Better Stands programme: through initiatives like this, exhibitors are encouraged to adopt a more sustainable approach and minimise waste production from disposable stands. Moreover, reusable materials were employed for seminar theatres, networking areas, and further spaces of the exhibition centre, representing a concrete step ahead towards the realization of more eco-friendly events and committing to the goal of having event waste by 2025.

The partnership between IMA and Xilos
IMA started to collaborate with Xilos in 2022 for the realization of stands on the occasion of exhibitions.
The two companies share common values, especially for what concerns sustainability. IMA is in fact continuously improving its environmental impact as well as eco-friendly activities, whereas Xilos is part of the EF Group, which not only boasts the ISO 14001 certification, but also the Gold Medal by Ecovadis with a score of 73/100, which is one of the most important platforms for sustainability rating.
Based on this important shared value, IMA and Xilos study and design exhibitions’ stands together, considering natural materials for stand building and the employment of recycled materials, taking concrete actions to minimise events’ waste in the near future. Moreover, the stands planned together by the two firms are characterized by a general harmony that makes visitors feel welcomed, creating a pleasant space where people can meet, stay for a while and learn everything about the IMA world.
Thanks to the great effort and pledge to sustainability by the two parts, IMA could receive the afore-mentioned recognition by the Best Stands programme for its booth at CPHI Barcelona.
