Based on extensive research to minimise the amount of tea dust deposited on the machine, the C27-E implements a host of clever solutions such as the incorporation of groups inside the machine frame, also significantly reducing the footprint of the machine.
The C27-E produces knotted tea bags at up to 300 bags/minute and handles tea as well as non-free-flowing products thanks to a special vibrating feeding system for herbs.
The C27-E is a  medium-speed solution for all tea and herb varieties. Naked bags and sealed outer envelopes are the two available packaging methods. It is equipped with a new cartoning attachment with a level of flexibility allowing both 1 to 4 row processing, as well as carton types including tuck-in, Kurzlaschen and caddy style.
Complete working cycle control is enabled via a PC with a user-friendly on-board HMI. Machine operators also benefit from remote monitoring on a mobile device (tablet or smartphone) thanks to Open Standard software and full interoperability.

The C28-E is suited to smaller production runs thanks to its reduced footprint and packaging speeds of up to 210 bags/minute. Based on IMA’s consolidated knotting technology, the C28-E processes naked bags, crimped and heatsealed outer envelopes for tea and non-free-flowing products.
In order to facilitate product flow and reduce degradation, the C28-E is equipped with a special vibrating feeding system for herbs. A simple automatic cartoning attachment for pre-glued cartons on one row can be fitted to complete the working cycle. Both tuck-in and Kurzlaschen styles are possible. Alternatively, the C28-E can be fitted with a hand removal unit for counted bags thanks to the machine’s lower production speed.
Product control devices including a video camera to check correct knotting, and warning signals contribute to ensuring maximum product quality.

Based on a modular structure the CT11 encompasses the highest level of currently available technology in a complete line boasting an exceptionally reduced foot-print even in its complete version including sealed outer envelope and cartoning stations. Responding to the latest no-plast market trends, the new machine is able to handle compostable and/or recyclable packaging materials, from filter material to paper cardboard.
The production cycle of the CT11 filter bag has been specifically designed with the precise aim of following the forming of each single bag, phase by phase, beginning with the use of individual packaging material reels such as tag, filter material and cotton thread, resulting in a very linear structure for easy accessibility. Starting from the forming of the filter bag material tube complete with tag and cotton thread and passing through a first transversal sealing & cutting station, a subsequent filling one and to end with, through a second sealing & cutting operation, each filter bag takes shape step by step and is ready to be processed in the next packaging station.
The unique modular structure of the CT11 allows the integration of a compact outer envelope sealing unit available for either tetrahedral or pillow bags and guaranteeing maximum protection against oxidisation. The enevelope sealing profile is continuous and performed on a single station.
The cartoning attachment fitted on the CT11 machine allows the packaging of cartons from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 25 bags. The cartoning attachment automatically forms the cartons, fills them with a pre-determined quantity of bags and finally closes them. Its versatility allows the packaging of enveloped bags stacked either vertically or horizontally according to the marketing needs.
