On August 1, 2024, IMA Group acquired Sarong’s Packaging Machinery and Packaging Materials divisions, global leader in Thermo-Form, Fill & Seal machines for suppositories and in the converting and sale of suppository films and foils.
The name “Sarong” evokes the image of a traditional Indonesian garment, worn by women for both comfort and protection. This iconic piece of clothing, which gracefully “dresses” and safeguards, serves as a powerful metaphor for the role that Sarong plays in the modern industrial landscape.
Just as the sarong protects and enhances those who wear the garment, Sarong’s machines are designed to “dress”, fit and protect delicate products, specifically in the pharmaceutical industry.
IMA Sarong offers a complete range of FFS packaging lines for small, medium and large production volumes, handling 6,000 to 30,000 suppositories per hour with both plastic (ThermoForming) and aluminium (Cold Forming) options. The portfolio also includes Vertical Thermoform, Fill & Seal machines for unit-dose pharmaceutical liquids and semi-liquids.
Additionally, Sarong’s Packaging Materials Division specializes in high-quality suppository films and foils for pharmaceutical applications, ensuring a reliable supply chain for liquid and semi-liquid products.
This strategic acquisition enhances IMA’s portfolio of advanced packaging solutions and supports its ongoing strategy to strengthen its presence in the pharmaceutical sector. By integrating Sarong’s expertise, IMA now offers complete packaging lines, complementing its existing IMA Safe cartoning machines and the IMA End of Line Hub.
