IMA Active at The Inaugural Continuous Manufacturing Forum

IMA Active is pleased to announce its participation in The Inaugural Continuous Manufacturing Forum, which will be held in Princeton (NJ) on September 16-19, 2024.

Continuous Manufacturing Forum (CMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the science and adoption of Continuous Manufacturing. By fostering collaboration between academia, the pharmaceutical industry, CDMOs, and equipment providers, CMF aims to drive innovation and integration in the field, serving as a catalyst for meaningful connections and collaborative insights.

Jola Gorreja, Process Scientist at IMA Active, will present a compelling case study on technology transfer from batch to continuous coating process titled “Industrial scale continuous coater: technology transfer from the original batch process with development of NIR method to monitor the final coating tablets quality”.

The study focuses on developing a control system to ensure steady state within the continuous coater machine and an NIR spectroscopic method that analyses the quality of the final tablets to monitor process robustness. Continuous Manufacturing process integrates all unit operations in a single production train, without starts or stops in between unit operations. Consequently, the implementation of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing requires advanced control strategies with various levels of automation to maintain processes in a state of control and final product quality within specification.

Join IMA Active at the Inaugural Continuous Manufacturing Forum to explore cutting-edge advancements and collaborative opportunities in Continuous Manufacturing.
