IMA Active at the 1st APV Continuous Manufacturing Conference

IMA Active is pleased to take part in 1st APV Continuous Manufacturing Conference, which will be held in Antwerp (Belgium), on February 19-20, 2019.

The conference is built up out of four main session topics, as control strategies, cleaning concepts and containment for Continuous Manufacturing, and also challenges and opportunities in early and late development of this new paradigm. A labtour at Janssen and poster exhibition are also foreseen. People working in formulation and process development, engineering, quality, commercial manufacturing, academia and authorities join to learn about the approaches for control strategies in Continuous Manufacturing from different pharmaceutical companies.

Objectives:

  • Learn about the state of the art regarding cleaning concepts and containment in Continuous Manufacturing from leading equipment suppliers.
  • Learn about challenges and opportunities in early and late CM development from industrial and academic perspectives.
  • See the Janssen Continuous Manufacturing line for development.
  • Exchange ideas at the posters and table tops.

Nicola Gandolfi, IMA Active Technical Manager for Granulation and Coating, will held the presentation “Prexima and Croma, integrated technologies for Continuous Manufacturing”.

When it comes to technologies for solid oral form production, IMA Active has chosen to start its way towards Continuous Manufacturing with the tablet coating process because it comes between two continuous processes already managed by IMA machines: tablet pressing and packaging. CROMA, the new continuous coating equipment, is sized to work downstream of a PREXIMA 300, IMA Active’s tablet press for medium production output.
