This packaging line is designed to handle multiple packaging workflows, adapting to a wide range of product and format requirements. It is particularly suitable for operations requiring frequent format changes.
The part of the line supplied by IMA begins with an IMA Life AP400 and is equipped with a tray forming unit, an overwrapping machine and an integrated case packer-palletizer by IMA BFB.
A key advantage is the built-in mechanical and software bypass logic, allowing operators to select different workflows, including:
All bypass options are recipe-selectable from the HMI, enabling fast transitions without mechanical intervention.
The MFLC5 forms trays from flat blanks and delivers them to a robotic transfer unit, where cartons are placed directly into the trays.
This station can be fully bypassed when tray packaging is not required.
The AF60 processes cartons in various bundle configurations. After wrapping, bundles can be labeled using the IMA Labeling print & apply system, with label application on top of the bundles.
A dedicated bypass mode allows products to continue downstream unwrapped when required.
The CPH2 case packer can receive individual cartons, wrapped carton bundles, or wrapped trays. The infeed requires no format parts, and key areas can be equipped with motorized automatic adjustments to speed up changeovers.
The system integrates the IMA Labeling print & apply solution for corner-wrap case labeling.
Cases are transferred to the RP4 palletizing cell, which supports a wide range of pallet patterns and is prepared for future AGV integration. Quick-change suction plates allow fast adaptation to new product and pallet configurations.
