A term with an emotionally conflicting meaning. In the personal vocabulary of individuals this word represents something pleasant, desirable, positive. For others it is an unpleasant feeling, a concern, perhaps a threat. Why?
The reason for this emotional difference can be found in our personal background. In experiences, in everything that builds within us day after day, that network of meanings and emotional values that remains unconscious, but that lives behind every word we use and changes its meaning, giving it an entirely subjective emotional tone.
Part of psychotherapy fuels this process: a process of inner change. In this sense, change takes on a broad meaning. Some call it awareness, others self-knowledge, others growth.
Learning to change is a fundamental step. A lesson to learn, a mantra to keep in mind.
