On April 26th 2018, at the IMA Service Center in Ozzano dell’Emilia (Bologna, Italy), IMA Chairman and CEO Alberto Vacchi called a plenary meeting with the Group managers, to discuss the progress of IMA Digital.
As announced at Interpack 2017, IMA Digital is leading the IMA Group towards the 4.0 of products and services that the company offers to its customers around the world.
At the end of the meeting, Alberto Vacchi commented:
“I am satisfied with the work done by our task force for a more advanced digitalization. Smart products and Smart factories represent specific goals to be integrated and shared with our end-users. I strongly believe that in our world, which is aimed at the design and manufacture of automatic machines, the integration between different disciplines is the core of success. In our research – design – and production units, precision mechanical components are made with the ultimate smart software for the best production, safety and quality of work; all this has been happening for decades. However, the 4.0is leading us to significant innovations and applications, making it possible to create new connections and integrations among systems that were not traditionally supposed to communicate with each other.
In facts, system components are now connected, big data are ready to be processed, remote control systems can now be shared and they are going to be even more easily available for our end-users, whose needs must be interpreted at the best of our efforts, even using IMA Digital tools.
At Achema, we are going to show the progress of our IMA Digital program to gather any feedback, comments, encouragement and specific requests to discuss with our best partners, who are of course our customers.“
