Alberto Vacchi at the "Save Food" pavilion to support the FAO/ITC project during Interpack 2017

On May 8th 2017, during the “Interpack 2017” at the Messe Düsseldorf, the Chairman Alberto Vacchi made a presentation at the “Save Food” Pavilion, to discuss the reason why IMA decided to support the FAO/ITC Project “Improving food packaging for Small and Medium Agro-Enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa”. The IMA Chairman explained that packaging plays an important role to reduce food loss and waste, and that the right access to packaging is essential for the right access to healthy food, and healthy nutrition.

IMA participated in the initiatives promoted during the Interpack at the Messe Düsseldorf, and in March 2013 the company started supporting the SAVE FOOD initiative to give a concrete contribute against food waste.

IMA strongly believes in the role of FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and considers this UN agency as the most appropriate for promoting food preservation, safety and shelf life extension, and this is why the idea of the Project “Improving food packaging for Small and Medium Agro-Enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa”was born.
