IMA SpA
Hall 1 - Stand C4

Due to the continued current adverse security situation in Mumbai, India, the P-MEC India exhibition has been postponed to 2009. The new dates and venue will be announced as soon as possible. This decision has been taken by exhibition organizers in consultation with the industry and local authorities in the interest of the safety and security of visitors and exhibitors alike.

Last edition of P-Mec India exhibition held in Mumbai in November 2007 was a big hit with visitors for the IMA Group. This was the first time IMA took part in the Indian show dedicated to the pharmaceutical market, with a number of packaging machines of various kind on show.

Over the three days of the exhibition, the IMA’s stand was visited by hundreds of professionals from the major local pharmaceutical companies and international MNC.

Thanks to this positive experience, IMA decided to further invest on the market and being present, this year, too, with a far bigger booth and a higher number of machines of the latest generation.

India is still confirmed to be one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical markets at a rate of 8-9% annually, and is to become the first pharmaceutical hub in the world.

IMA can boast a long standing presence on the Indian market. In 1995 IMA acquired the 51% of Precision Gears Pvt. Ltd., based in Mumbai and specialised in the design and manufacturing of blister and cartoning machines for emerging markets. In 2006 IMA signed a contract to buy shares equal to 34% of the share capital of Precision Gears. In recent years Precision Gears has achieved excellent results both in India and in emerging markets, maintaining a high capacity for technological innovation and customer service that has always been one of IMA's distinguishing features.

This year, to further consolidate the market penetration, with the acquisition of the former BOC EDWARDS Freeze-Drying business, IMA is placing itself as a leading company in the manufacturing and supply of processing and packaging machines for the aseptic field.

BRIO Pharma Technologies Pvt. Ltd., located in Mumbai, represents and promotes all the production lines of the IMA Group for the pharmaceutical industry already since several years. It’s a recent news that BRIO Pharma will also represent IMA EDWARDS in INDIA, with a dedicated sales and field service network.

At P-MEC 2008 the IMA Group, together with BRIO Pharma and Precision Gears Ltd., will exhibit innovative solutions for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
